| Date of Hike: |

| Parking/Access Road Notes: |
Three other cars in the lot at 7:30, seven others at 2pm. Plenty of room. |
| Surface Conditions: |
Dry Trail, Wet Trail, Mud - Minor/Avoidable |
| Recommended Equipment: |
| Water Crossing Notes: |
None this route |
| Trail Maintenance Notes: |
The part of the trail that actually looks like a trail is in decent shape. Above that is just rocks - nothing to need "maintenance." |
| Dog-Related Notes: |
There was one. I think this is not a dog-friendly trail, though. |
| Bugs: |
There were one or two, but I did the hike without repellent. Up above tree line the stiff breeze launched any of them into Maine. |

| Comments: |
What can I say? The Caps is the Caps - all rocky ledges from a short ways above the lookout, then that boulder heap called a summit cone. Very difficult to make good time in either direction on that stuff. |
