Spotted a car at Appalachia. The lot was full at 6 AM, but the spot I got on the street was pretty close.
Plenty of room at Caps Ridge at 6:30 AM. |

Saw a friendly one on Jefferson with some snazzy shoes. |

| Bugs: |
Only one bit me, but he sure made it count!
Other than that, just a few swarms of flies here and there that were less "interactive."
Some hornets on the summit of Adams, but they left me alone while I enjoyed my lunch. |

| Comments: |
Great day for a JAM traverse (complete with a peanut butter and JAM sandwich for lunch!). Started early to beat the heat and then enjoyed a full day in the Alpine Zone. The trails were in great shape and a nice breeze mostly kept the bugs away. We went to Thunderstorm Junction before heading up Adams so I could run around the sky rotary a few times. Also glad we took the short side trips to Star Lake and the falls at the end of Valley Way! |
