What an awesome mountain to hike for little effort! Trail is less than 3/4 of a mile one way with an elevation gain of 450'. South Road to the parking area can be tight if 2 larger vehicle meet going separate direction. (PS it is not plowed in the winter). We had the mountain to ourselves all day. We found some cellar holes and an old outhouse. As you approach the summit there are a lot of blueberry bushes and they are producing Blueberries. The summit also offers great views, but it was a bit hazy while we were there. The summit also has a lot of names carved in it. We found one from 1881, most are tough to read. This was our first time hiking this mountain since my back surgery, it won't be our last time hiking it. We posted our video of the day on YouTube for anyone interested in seeing what the hike is like. Just click the link... |
