Comments
Comments: Finally overcame my fear of THAT ROAD! Thanks to others who have commented on it, and great directions in the WMG. Prema said it was in better condition than the portion of Zealand Road before you get to the Sugarloaf campgrounds. Uneventful drive, no problems.

Lovely ascent, beautiful woods alternating between firs and hardwood, and flat and steep and in between. About 1.6 miles up there is a loop to the Overlook. It's not called the Overlook for nothing, so be sure to check it out. Mt. Success looks far away, but you will get there. Flat area after here for a while, but has a lot of boggy areas. Following the proper protocol of just pushing through (as to avoid trail creep0 is not always possible and herd paths are forming in several places.

Mahoosuc Trail was good, a few ups and downs, and one difficult area for me. Huge rock and being under 4 10 can be a challenge. I used my backpack as a step stool. Gorgeous summit, views in all directions. Same story with the mud. Slipped up to my upper thigh.

Prema noticed a herd path at one point, blazed in a few different colors. I think it was just to mark boundaries. Did not see the plane. We did see a lot of thru hikers. Good luck, folks!
