Water Crossing Notes
Water Crossing Notes: Nothing major. Surprisingly, the small streams between Crawford and Resolution were flowing enough to filter water. I did not check the source at the old Resolution Shelter site but I assume it was running if these tiny streams were.
Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: The lower part of Davis Path below the spur to Crawford is in very rough shape. :( This section continues to succumb to severe erosion which is compromising rock steps and creating hazardous footing on the descent due to the sheer number of loose rocks. The water bars in this section are also packed with debris and need to be redug. The same issues apply to the short steep section of Mt. Parker Trail from Davis Path up to the first open ledges. The herd path to South Resolution is very defined now and has cairns to guide hikers on the open ledges. Several trees down on Davis and a few each on Parker and the herd path. Pre-wilderness blazing can still be seen on open ledges along Davis Path (white) and Mt. Parker Trail (yellow).

Bugs: Yes! They were a nuisance midday but seemed to disappear in the afternoon.

Comments
Comments: A beautiful day for another USFS wilderness monitoring visit on Resolution. Not very busy at all despite it being a sunny Saturday. The ascent up to the ridge feels more difficult now due to the poor condition of Davis Path. There were some areas of wet ledge but things were mostly dry.

Before I settled in on the main ledges for the afternoon I did the bushwhack to the true summit of Resolution. It's only 0.2 mi. but the woods are gnarly, tight, and stabby; travel was very slow as I didn't want to puncture anything! There's a fantastic view toward Washington at the high point though and I was surprised to not find a register.

After my shift was over I did the side trip to Resolution's south peak. As mentioned above, the herd path is very obvious now and it's only 0.1 mi. to the open top.

The morning started delightfully cool but the day quickly warmed up and became more humid. Bleh.
