| Trail Maintenance Notes: |
Some nice axe work done in the gulf lately. As mentioned in other reports the very top section of Wamsutta is overgrown and badly needs a brushing. It was about ten-minutes worth of walking just below the auto road junction |
|
| Dog-Related Notes: |
This would not be a terrible idea for almost all dogs on the planet with the incredibly rare exception. Also look out for pug packs they are notoriously vicious when encountered in numbers more than seven. |
|
| Bugs: |
There were some black flies and other annoying buzzing creatures on Tucks headwall |

Wamsutta completed the WMNF redline project for me-31st edition. It was a fun one to end on-very steep and rugged with fun scrambles-Margaret loved it and only needed one miniature boost on the difficult scramble described in the guidebook which was impossible for a six-year old to maneuver solo. Thanks to Margaret for hiking 208 trails with her dad and riding on my back as a baby for another 100+. Was good to have my only other hiking partner there as well who introduced me to hiking and these silly lists! Views were certainly muted due to wildfire haze but still epic of the immediate peaks which is what matters when you’re on Washington I feel. Summit was the usual madhouse and Dan was angry that I made him wait fifteen minutes with the tourists for a summit sign pic-thank you for your sacrifice!first time eating pizza up there and boy it hit the spot! Memorable day with two awesome people completing a goal I began chasing eight years ago:) |
