Did an out-and-back of the Nancy Pond trail. This felt like three types of trails in one. The first third was rocky with a steady but not-too-bad incline. The second third was flat and featured bog bridges (even though the trail wasn’t very wet), Nancy Pond, and Norcross Pond. The final third to the Carrigain Notch trail junction was a great woods walk. The cascades were tall and running well. I’m a sucker for mountain ponds, so I thought that both of them were beautiful, but no wildlife. There is a great view at the far end of Norcross Pond that caught me by surprise. Very nice. Saw five people on a Monday. Considered making a loop via Carrigain Notch trail and Signal Ridge trail, but the Nancy Pond trail was so nice that I did it twice. |
