Sawyer River Rd gate is closed due to a major bank collapse. Parking is at Rt 302. The hike to the trailhead adds almost 4 miles one way. |

The closure of Sawyer River Rd resulted in our having the entire pond to ourselves! It was a long trek for the first overnight backpacking trip for three young boys, ages 6, 4, and 2-1/2, but they loved it. |
