Hiking Trail Conditions Report
Peaks
Peaks Mt. Kearsarge, NH
Trails
Trails: Rollins Trail, Winslow Trail
Date of Hike
Date of Hike: Saturday, August 10, 2024
Parking/Access Road Notes
Parking/Access Road Notes: Parking at Winslow was full when I left. Only complaint is that there is construction happening (on the pit toilets, I think). That left three very unmaintained porta-potties. No tp, dirty, gross. If we want folks to leave no trace (including human feces) on our trails, we need to do a better job at providing adequate potty locations, when those are posted/expected.
Surface Conditions
Surface Conditions: Wet Trail, Wet/Slippery Rock, Standing/Running Water on Trail, Mud - Minor/Avoidable
Recommended Equipment

Water Crossing Notes
Water Crossing Notes: None
Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: Trail conditions arefine despite the storm last night. Only issue is that both trails are soaked. Waterfalls (pretty) all down Rollins and just wet wet wet down Winslow. Slippery.
Dog-Related Notes
Dog-Related Notes: Lots of happy pups on the trails...plenty of water for them! Ha!
Bugs
Bugs: Not really.

Comments
Comments: I've probably done this hike 15 times and this was the slipperiest it's been, with all of the recent rain. If you're venturing out soon, know that it might be slow-going, especially on the way down. Was glad I grabbed my poles.
