|
| Water Crossing Notes: |
Easily rock hop-able, trails were pretty dry all in all. Was greatly happy for the good boards between Eisenhower and Pierce. Webster-Jackson trail is a wet muddy mess. |
|
| Trail Maintenance Notes: |
I can't recall a single a tree across the trail. The regular wet and muddy places weren't that bad this time around. I think it is pathetic that the trials are so poorly blazed for the AT. Two thumbs up for the mt. wash state park for blazing the AT! But the rest of the way is just sad. |

| Lost and Found: |
near Edmunds col, I found an item and had no idea what it was and asked Zachary to put in in my pack's pocket. Then a women walking towards us asked if we saw a doggy boot. So that is what I found and happy to return it to its owner. |

We didn't start too early and we didn't get out late, a wonderful day with Zachary across the Presies. Going up Pine Link was very nice, even though it was pretty warm and humid, footing good and trail clear. One person on Madison, and a few on their way up from the hut. We went up Star Lake Trail for a change of pace and enjoyed the solitude and the views. Maybe six people on Adams. Passed by people both directions on way to Jefferson, a dozen people and many more on their way to Jefferson. Smooth sailing to Mt. Washington and it was 38 degrees on the summit. Enjoyed eating our sandwiches inside and filling our water bottles. Quick stop at Lakes to snack and fill our water. Monroe, a few people on top. Eisenhower too. Pierce empty. Between Mizpah and Jackson we met two different families with children in distress. The poor dad with the little girl in a pink dress and a child strapped to his chest, I sure hope they got out before dark. We caught up to a threesome just before Jackson. We gave a cheer to them as they completed their first Presi traverse and their first 48! Not a fan of descending Jackson and I just couldn't wait to pass the spur to elephant head! Zachary thanks for inviting me along! The rugged peaks gave us great views and spared us from rain. |
