| Comments: |
Fourth trip up these mountains since I've been peak-bagging, different route this time. A great day out. I took "NosyKate"'s recommendation (13 June) of doing the loop counter-clockwise (up Pine Bend and down Sabbaday Brook). This was likely good advice, as the steep sections on Sabbaday Brook are mostly not on rock, so less slippery. Descending Pine Brook might be tricky when wet. I had parked at Sabbaday Falls, and road-walked up to the Pine Bend trailhead: 1 mile, 15 minutes. The hike up Pine Bend was pleasant, with some steep rock sections. Turned south upon arrival at Mt Tripyramid Trail, no views at either peak, as we know. The hike down Sabbaday Brook Trail was gorgeous: beautiful green moss on the brook. |
