Parking/Access Road Notes: Small lot at York Pond TH was full with 5/6 cars at 10:30am so had to park behind a row of 8 cars along the road. Several cars at the Unknown Pond TH as well when I passed through. About half the cars were still there at 4:00pm on return.

Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: From trailhead on the York Pond side the first mile of UPT is in great shape. Second mile was a muddy mess today and third mile needs brushing in spots. KRT has some blowdowns in spots before and after the junction for the Horn with herd paths forming around them. The biggest issue I saw today was on the Bunnell Notch Trail. Roughly 2 miles from the York Pond Trail and parking lot, the trail is heavily eroded and at times indistinguishable between brook and trail. Unfortunately, muddy/messy herd paths are now prevalent on the sides of this area that seemed to stretch for almost half a mile. Some brushing also is needed in the flat areas around the BNT/YPT intersection. The sign at that junction is about to be swallowed up by the overgrowth.
Dog-Related Notes
Dog-Related Notes: One beautiful off leash husky (I think) who greeted me with a low growl when I turned the corner of the Mt. Cabot Cabin. The owner was inside playing checkers and was about as friendly as his dog.
Bugs
Bugs: Surprisingly very few.

Comments
Comments: 12 mile counter-clockwise loop with 3200’ elevation gain. Beautiful woods and scenery. Wildfire smoke still an issue today, leading to hazy skies.
