Hall's ledge could use more consistent blazing. Saw a painted can, a yellow blaze, orange blaze, tape, and even horizontal blazes??
Early part could use a brushing, generally amazed that the trail wasn't in worse shape w/ erosion due to the lack of drainge.
Hutmen's trail and preceding ski trails had very high brush. Really could use a sign where the Hutmen's trail forks at a herd path that resembles a perfect trail about 0.5 in from CNR.
could use some raking on the steep part prior to road.
The lack of reports speak to the fact only tracers are doing this. I enjoyed the farm part, but was wishing I was on skis! This is a hodge podge of steep climbs over dirt and leaves, overgrown forest roads, and sudden beautiful moss paths? Almost felt like a trail that was made to connect other trails (like the Cohos or something) but the irony is that it didn't appear to do any of the sort. Definitely a cloudy day hike. Also one to have good navigation on.
We did the road walk even though we read about a bushwhack (nordic gal's caltopo i think) as it started pouring and my legs were already cut up from raspberry bushes. |
