Comments
Comments: Had time for "one more thing," so I boogied up the road from Deer Hills to tag Spruce Hill trail! The bottom third is a bit of a loose stone, growing in at times, wet mucky mess. Just below the beautiful stretch of tall conifers, the trail cleans up well and has a very nice footbed. It's easy to follow without the blazes (wilderness), and if you pay attention you can see where your tax dollars scrubbed them off the trees. A couple real mucky spots around the pud prior to the summit, and then between the summit and Bickford Brook Trail. I saw one person at this junction, and only two otheres coming up when I was almost back to the bottom. Rocks were a bit greasy from the recent rain, and quite a few areas don't look like they get much sun to dry them out so watch your step so you don't eat it! Overall the trail was great! If you love some solitude this wouldn't be a bad choice.
