Parking/Access Road Notes
Parking/Access Road Notes: Plenty of parking at the AMC Cardigan Lodge -- there may have been six or seven cars there when we got there, and about the same when we left. NOTE: there are "no parking" signs all the way along Shem Valley Road past the hiker parking lot until the pull-out at the low point along the road, near the bend and steep uphill. Not sure how this will work out for this upcoming holiday weekend, but...

Water Crossing Notes: Nothing of note.
Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: Nothing of note except that the yellow blazing on the Clark Trail above PJ Ledge is mostly worn away/non-existent. Trails are in better shape than we anticipated, given the amount of use they receive.

Comments
Comments: Lovely fall-conditions walk today; we had not been up here for quite some time. Was happy to see that, although the trails are pretty over-used in some sections (lots of herd paths around rock steps and hardscape, etc.), they're no worse off than they were during the height of COVID, when just about everyone was using them. A couple of sections of rock steps appear to have had some repairs, and some new drainage channels added. All in all, heartening.
