Comments
Comments: Stony Brook Trail is a lot like North Twin, Gale River and Garfield, pretty flat at the start before getting steeper and a lack of views so you can put your head down and tick off the mileage. Water crossings were easy. The ledges on Carter-Moriah Trail are nice and not always deep, the first one looks over just the Wild River Wilderness and it feels really remote. C-M had a surprising amount of mud, even a small stretch of standing water. Tough little scramble just before the summit. Great views from the top, especially to the Presidentials and Carters. Plenty of begging Canada jays. Decent number of Nobo thru hikers.
