A nice day in the Merrymeeting Lake area to check out the future route of Devil's Den Direct, which will connect the Collins Family Forest/Mt. Molly trail system to the trailhead for Devil's Den Mtn. This is also the final trail being added to the next AMC Southern New Hampshire Trail Guide. At this point, Devil's Den Direct is a simply a flagged bushwhack route through the woods; no trail building has happened yet.
I looped back over the summit of Mt. Molly which is always a lovely spot.
Totally dry trail conditions today and few people were seen. Very quiet for a holiday weekend. |
