Parking/Access Road Notes
Parking/Access Road Notes: The road to the true trailhead was washed out really bad in 2017 and it doesn't look like they'll be fixing it at all in the future. So I parked about .3 miles down on the side of the road. There's room for maybe 3 cars.

Trail Maintenance Notes: There were several blowdowns on the lower section of the carriage road below the junction of the snapper trail. Nothing to crazy in diameter, but there are at least 4 or 5 blowdowns that are blocking the trail

Comments
Comments: What a great day to grid out the moose! I've only got a view up there once before of the other 11 times I've been up. But today the moose provided clear blue sky's and views for miles. I started at the bottom on the carriage road. Please take extra caution in this area as bear hunters have baited the first section of the trail to the first bridge and sprayed the whole trail with a smelly bear attractant. So make sure to make alot of noise to avoid being attacked by a bear or shot by one of the hunters. Other than the worries about the bears it was a fantastic day. I went up carriage road to the first hurricane trail junction, took a left onto hurricane trail and over hurricane mountain to Glen cliff trail. Then from there went up to the intersection with carriage road and to the summit of Moosilauke. From there it was a 5.5 mile cruise on the carriage road all the way back to the bottom where I started. This also closed out my Moosilauke tab for highlighting. It was a great day on some great trails to grid out the moose!
