| Parking/Access Road Notes: |
My buddy got the last parking spot at Mt Garfield Trailhead off Gale River rode. Certainly more roadside parking was easily available.
At RT 93 Exit 34B, plenty of hiker parking in designated area. Geez, a weekday after Labor Day weekend, what me worry? :-) |

| Surface Conditions: |
Dry Trail, Wet Trail, Wet/Slippery Rock, Mud - Minor/Avoidable, Mud - Significant |

| Recommended Equipment: |

|
| Water Crossing Notes: |
Nothing to report. |
|
| Trail Maintenance Notes: |
Greenleaf trail is lightly maintained, so there are a few blowdowns to be swept up, but otherwise it's good.
So glad to see a roadside trail sign for Greenleaf trail and that some of the overgrowth at the trailhead has been cleared away. Previously it was a hunt-n-peck game to find the trailhead. Thank you trail maintainers!
A few more on Garfield Ridge trail below Skookumchuck trail junction in various places.
Some of the water bars could use some replacing, as mud seems to be copious as ever. Some need extending as well probably due to erosion and frequent rain events this summer. |
|
| Dog-Related Notes: |
Saw a few lab's and a beagle - both doggies and owners were very friendly.
Glad to see them all, although there is some nar to negotiate on these trails for our furry friends. |
|
| Bugs: |
None that we saw, save for a couple biting variety at Mt Garfield summit, so my hiking buddy reported. |
|
| Lost and Found: |
Not that I can recall. |

| Comments: |
Bluebird day - just a wonderful day to be out on a beautiful ridge in the mountains.
So great to be up there on a day like this day.
Saw probably at least a dozen backpackers doing pemi. A few trail runners doing the same. A group of adolescents and 2-3 adult leaders taking a hike to Lafayette from Garfield Shelter. A few day hikers, like ourselves, although many were on, on their way on or off of the Ant hill (aka Lafayette's summit).
