Comments
Comments: Incredible views on each of the 3 summits. Many scrambles on the way up North. Trail well marked with yellow blazes (Moat Mountain Trail) up to the misleading sign between Middle and North. The blazes disappeared on the way to North along with most hikers (only met 1 in the way to North). The yellow blazes followed Moat Mt Trail after the misleading sign.
When you do come to that misleading sign (between Middle and North), turn left towards Attitash Trail and Westside Rd (don’t continue straight on Moat Mountain Trail as that will take you down towards Diana’s Baths). If you have All Trails/Gaia downloaded maps, it will guide you.
With cooler temps at night (in 40s), the bugs have mostly disappeared. Day travel on all the exposed rock is till quite hot from the sun.
Trail great all the way out to North. Gets a little long in the tooth on the way back. I ran into a black bear about .1 miles after the wood bridge (so .7-.8 from the parking lot) as I came back around 6:30pm. Just made a lot of noise and moved at regular speed while the bear just stared at me on the ridge trail above it. So many views and lookouts that you tend to get used to them being there.
