Comments
Comments: Lost Pond Trail was a good, but not flat runout (think, Lincoln Woods) like I had in my mind. Wildcat Ridge is flat for about 25 paces before going straight up. The chimney about a half mile onto WRT took a minute to figure out the way up. Lot of knobs to go over. And after a bunch of them, you end up at the top of the ski area. It was a mostly sunny day so the views were outstanding. It was steep coming down D, but from C to A was pretty easy. The view from Wildcat A looks straight down on Carter Notch Hut. I did it as an out and back, but took the service road down Wildcat instead of dealing with the steep WRT with daylight fading, and saw a couple bears crossing Polecat. It was a long day, but because the terrain is steep at the start, it limited how fast I tried to go. Mud was there in spots, but easy to avoid the worst of it.
