Absolutely spectacular weather day. I'd never done this side of the Whites before, and I don't think I could have chosen a better day. Hit all the peaks (Franklin, Pierce, Eisenhower, Monroe) on the way out, including the tail end of sunrise at Mizpah Spring hut. Hadn't planned on going up Washington, but being so close, why not? They had leftover breakfast at Lake In The Clouds that they were giving away, so it was wins all around. Was pretty tired by the end of the way back (stuck to Crawford Path on the return), but an absolutely wonderful day on the trail. |
