Comments
Comments: The Holt Trail lives up to it's reputation. Plenty of steep, open ledge which thankfully our boots stuck to like glue. A few spots I hesitated as our plan was to retreat if we hit a spot I wasn't comfortable going up. Decided to just do it and hope no return would be needed, as a down-climb would be very difficult. The most challenging section was a steep ledge close to the summit where there were very few divots for the toes of my boots and the handhold was a thin wedge shaped edge of a rock formation that went up the left side of the ledge. Awkward to grip but it got us up the ledge with no slips. After that it was easy to the summit.

We had attempted this trail years ago but got turned back by wet ledge pretty close to the top. I don't know how we ever managed that down-climb but we all did it with no slips. It is nice andvdry right mow with no rain in sight, so now is a good time to go.
