Parking/Access Road Notes
Parking/Access Road Notes: There is a large diameter crown in between the first (at the road) gate and angle parking that is ~1/3 of the traveled way. Road is passable, but it will have to be removed. I didn't have my saw with me or I would have started on it it, but I figured someone would be there tomorrow with some mechanical advantage

Comments
Comments: A FINE day in the forest was had. Trails are in great shape end to end. An odd odor, that of campfire, was noted early this morning. Which was odd, because its clearly past the sign explicitly saying not to do this. I was able to locate its source, it appears someone also camped in this spot. Their fire was still smoldering and took ~3L of water to extinguish. It was hot enough that it burned my skin. It looked like it only needed one good gust of wind to reignite itself. Thanks to the hikers that came by and gave me some of their water, as I dumped pretty much all of mine on it and baby sat it for about 30 minutes to ensure that it was not going to reignite. Other than that, it was nice to see two new members of the 111 club and some ADK friends on the summit. My hands had a delightful combination of campfire and pure sugar from the cupcakes handed out! I double checked the campfire spot on the way out and it was indeed extinguished, cold to the touch and moist. I also asked a few others and none had any whiffs of campfire. 329/366... so close to 90% but so far....
