Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: This trail is not blazed, but it is so obvious and well-cared for that you really don't need them. No blow downs! Areas that are not the real path are blocked. Thanks!
Dog-Related Notes
Dog-Related Notes: Huge variety of well-behaved dogs and good owners. There was a shy, non-social one whose owners (a mother and daughter) are to be commended on how they handled her among the many humans and dogs present. Bring extra water if you go.

Comments
Comments: Went for Flags on the 48. Third time up Edmands, interesting to see any changes (just taller trees). Couldn't have had a better day for it. Unfortunately, I started dragging partway up; and while I did get to see the flag flying as I ascended the loop, it was done minutes before I arrived. But one of the volunteers had a Flag of Honor that she took out of its bag and we got a good photo of Prema and me holding it. So kind of her! Prema got up there earlier, so she saw more. Frodo and two Boy Scout Troops (Tyngsboro and I think Chelmsford) had Eisenhower. Thanks to everyone for doing such a beautiful job!

Views in all directions were a touch hazy but great. Even Washington was in the clear (until right before we left). Many groups doing the SOBO Presidential Traverse were taking a short break on Eisenhower. On the way down I met someone who looked familiar (young Black woman with glasses). When she told me she was thru-hiking I told her she looked like someone I saw on The Trek a few times. And it was her. Trail name is Princess. Told her I read some of her entries and wished her the best finishing up.

Had to get the lights out right before getting back to the car, despite getting down in almost book time. Where I was losing time was higher up most of the rocks were slippery. But it was still a great day.
