Parking/Access Road Notes
Parking/Access Road Notes: Parking for maybe a dozen or more cars at Rattle River Trailhead. At 8:30am on Saturday, the lot was barely half full upon arrival. There's a sizeable rut as you turn into the trailhead - be careful with low clearance vehicles.
Surface Conditions
Surface Conditions: Dry Trail, Mud - Minor/Avoidable, Mud - Significant

Water Crossing Notes
Water Crossing Notes: No issues. All crossings on Rattle River Trail were low. Easy to rock hop across and use poles for balance.
Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: Kenduskeag Trail on the way to Shelburne Moriah could use some TLC. No issue following the trail, but the brush is making the trail much more narrow.

Comments
Comments: Both trails in good shape. Rattle River Trail provided a great warmup for the first few miles, then a steep climb up to the junction with Kenduskeag. Opted to head over to Mt. Moriah first to see the flag on the summit for Flags on the 48. Summit was busy, as expected. Once back on Kenduskeag Trail, the traffic was very quiet. The 4 water crossings are an excellent place to refill water, if needed. Even with lower water levels, there's plenty of moving water to use to filter. Not issues on the water crossings - we were able to use poles for balance and rock hop across without getting feet wet.

This is a much more difficult approach to Mt. Moriah, but this is a great route to to combine a 52WAV and NH48.
