One log broken on a two log bridge south of the Garfield Stream crossing on the relo section of the Gale River Trail. One log of a three log broken on a three log bridge uphill from the top of the relo section of the Gale River Trail. One log bridge missing uphill from the previously mentioned bridge. Comments
Comments: Trails were in good condition. No extensive mud.
Limited views on a short side path from the summit of Galehead Mountain.
The summit of South Twin has a 360 degree view. Among the best in the White Mountains.
Some early leaf color with maples in the canopy and red leaves on the Gale River Trail in some spots. The hobblebush leaves were yellow, red, orange, purple, and green.
Bright red mountain ash berries at the open area adjacent to the Gale River at 3.2 miles from the trailhead.
Galehead Hut is open.
Saw one hiker from CT hiking a one day Pemi Loop plus 4 other adjacent peaks and another one day Pemi Looper who started at 3:45AM. Also, met a PA couple on a multi day Pemi Loop trip. Met two AT hikers. Lots of day hikers from all over, MA, ME, CA, IA, UT, DC, and Toronto.
