Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: I counted five large trees down, all of which will need a chainsaw. The lowest one on the trail has also pulled up the root ball. The trail could use some brushing out in its midsection. Not sure if the sign at the new trailhead was recycled from Pinnacle Rd. but it states the distance from North Wilmot Rd. to the summit as being 2.0 mi. I measured it at 1.5 mi.

Comments
Comments: This was an out-and-back along the eastern segment of Bog Mountain Trail to document its relocated trailhead. Instead of descending from the summit to Pinnacle Rd., the trail now turns onto a 0.15 mi. relocation at 1.4 mi. down and pops out at North Wilmot Rd., just south of its junction with Richards Rd., 0.5 mi. north of the Wilmot Library parking.

Other than that, the trail was the same as when I last walked it. Very dry conditions throughout. There are a couple of rocks marking the true summit of Bog. I also made a donation to the little library on top. The guest book inside is full and needs to be replaced.

Somewhat limited views due to the cloudy weather. Cool temps but still humid.

(A huge thanks to Alysia for the heads up on this relocation!)
