| Trail Maintenance Notes: |
First mile or so I couldn't find any blazes once I left the field at the beginning (where there's an apple tree in the driveway). Easy enough to find the footpath tho. I really kept looking and couldn't find any blazes. Once I headed uphill at the junction with the Waternomee Spur, the prickers and grass were growing very high. About a quarter mile above that spot, the prickers are growing high and across the trail. I really had to try to push them out of the way to not rip my pants. |

OK, so this was around my 18th or so visit to this peak. I always enjoy it. No views except from the logged areas to the distant hills - very pleasant. I guess I wasn't paying attention and took the wrong way down from the summit spur... went about a thousand vertical feet down towards the east until I found what I was pretty sure was a skidder road which I explored. At that point I looked at my GPS and realized I was on the wrong side of the mountain - D'OH!!!! - an extra couple miles for the day - and more cardio so I didn't mind and I had the time... but NO time left to visit Waternomee Falls.. oh well!!!! |
