A great day of hiking. Weather was neither too hot or cold, just right for an early Fall day. While there was a minor chance of sprinkles, none were encountered. Hardly any detectable wind. Started with some fog or low clouds over higher peaks and ridges, but by mid-day experienced some clearing with mostly high clouds. Could see some lower clouds over Wildcats and some more eastern peaks, but none on the eastern side of the Presies that day.
Had planned to take Boott Spur up and Lion's Head down, but when I got to Tuck's trail intersection decided to dive down Tucks. Also decided from the onset to avoid Mt Washington Summit. As expected, it appeared to be an ant hill. No regrets. |
