Comments: Day 2 of 2...

We packed up camp and started west on the Wild River Trail. We soon rediscovered the marshy sections of trail in the 1.5 stretch to get back to East Branch Trail. A few areas of muck, but otherwise thankful for rocks and the old bog bridges. Starting up the East Branch Trail, Nordic gal reminisced about the swamp we would soon encounter, and wondered if our dry trail luck would continue. It did not. The feet we kept dry for the last 24 hours became wet almost instantly. There are no good places to step, so just be good with that. It is a short stretch, but there are not enough logs and rocks to make it a hint of dry. Moving past it we found the rest of the East Branch Trail mostly dry with some varying patches of mud here and there. It’s a gradual to moderate incline most of the way, aside from the elevation on the Wild River junction end.
