Parking/Access Road Notes
Parking/Access Road Notes: Hubbard Brook Road is pretty decent to drive on, only a few random rocks popping up to avoid. It’s narrow, and I had to pull aside for one car to get by. I drove as far as the Kineo trailhead today.

Bugs: Had some of those creepy bugs on me that come out this time of year. I don’t know what they’re called, they don’t bite, just stick on you like ticks.

Comments
Comments: This ended up being about 5.5 miles including the bushwhack and 1,300 feet of climbing. The Weasel trail is un-signed so I had to check my position on the gps often as there are many roads forking off not on the map, some leading to experiments. In fact there were experiments everywhere, in the most unlikely places while bushwhacking too. Obviously this is not a place meant for recreational hikers. The mixed woods were wide open on the 0.7 mile whack due west from the high point of the trail just below the ridge, except for the ever present hobble bush. I hit thicker, bad woods on the way back following the top of the ridge. Still more experiments here too! I enjoyed reading the canister log book anyway, with pages going back to 2001.
