Dreary start early but once at the outlooks was treated to an amazing undercast. Once on Cannon it was as far as you could see in all directions, beautiful. Hardley any wind, warm. Once the gondola arrived it was time to leave. Longer than I remember over the Cannonballs, a couple a spots with running water if needed. Kinsmans weren't as busy as usual. Went past South summit to a quiet spot with great views into Harrington Pond. Back to North, climbed down for view of Kinsman Pond. Leaves are definitely changing colors but have a way to go. Came across someone heading the wrong way to the hut, insisting they were heading the right way. I let the staff at the hut know just in case. Hopefully they figured it out before dark. |
