Comments
Comments: I needed Tecumseh for the grid, and Brown Ash for the 500 list, so I made this a 15-mile lollipop loop and got a bunch of other cool peaks on the way. After reading reports and looking at the area on google earth I was very excited for this hike, and it exceeded my expectations. I lost the trail that I thought I could see on satellite images between Fisher and Green, though there were lots of fresh moose paths in there. I ran into very tough and thick sections I had to crawl under, but not too many cliff bands. There were plenty of views along the way for morale. After passing over Tecumseh, I bushwhacked the long southern ridge through decent woods and found one small lookout at Bald Mtn, then from that peak aimed directly for the hardwood-covered Brown Ash Swamp Hill, passing the swamp on the way. I ended up camping in Dickey Notch and hiking Cone Mountain the next morning, which was amazing by itself - looking back at what I hiked the day before, and at Acteon Ridge - the next destination.
