Comments
Comments: What a cool little mountain. I camped off Dickey Notch trail (on National Forest land) the night before. It was peaceful with the sound of crickets and owls after a nearby resident finished mowing their lawn. (There is an odd section of private property on this mountain.) I headed west up the mountain through decent woods, but steeper than the map shows. I ran into big cliffs, but soon got around and on top of them for excellent views. The summit was also nice. I saw some flagging and a herd path at the top so I followed it to see where it went, and realized it was heading for the pond. So I went and visited the pond. A lovely place. I hung out here a while, then headed north for my tent, but ended up having to pass through private property because of cliffs to my left. If I hiked this again I would try to find out where that flagged path starts from, because I imagine it continues south, possibly to a forest road south of the Dickey trailhead.
