Comments: List: NH 500 Highest
Trail Type: road walk, bushwhack
Jar/Canister: yes

We drove along NH 145 until we reached Ben Young Hill Road. This road is signed. Note that Ben Young Hill peak with the canister is different from the Ben Young Hill as noted on the NH Gazetteer. This short road is a single lane dirt track, in good shape. Driving in from NH 145, there's is an almost immediate split in the road. The road going straight ahead is posted as private, the road on the right is not posted. We drove a short distance up this and parked along a pull off on the shoulder. We continued on foot up the road until we reached a cable and “no trespassing” sign. We respected the land owner’s wishes and traced our steps back until we felt we would not encroach on their property. We entered the woods to the right, followed the mountain’s contour until we found an old, severely overgrown road (there are several in this area, we walked until we felt we were comfortably far enough away from the posted sign). The old road is difficult to follow, so our bearing took us up to the summit.

Liam Cooley probably has a much better approach. He came up from the Community Center per his post from 2022 (?). It seems that he accessed on the side of the mountain that may not be privately owned. But I am not certain.

Jar present. I cannot remember for the life of me if it was this register or Lovering who had the wet register. In either case, we had no replacement jar… Now that I think about it, I think is was Lovering that had the wet register.
