Lost and Found
Lost and Found: Found a beat up Red Sox hat and a pair of black Warby Parker sunglasses. Left both of them on a rock by the kiosk at Unknown Pond Trailhead lot. Also took down one painted rock from the summit of The Horn and left it with the sunglasses and hat. There were multiple painted rocks up there, but I didn't feel like carrying a bag full of rocks the rest of the day...

Comments
Comments: This is an excellent loop hike if you’re looking to get a 52WAV, NEHH, and 4K. According to some of the books, the best way to do this hike is counter clockwise so that you go up the steep sections. It was an enjoyable route this direction, though a number of people were going clockwise, too.

Didn’t see anyone until just below the junction with the spur for The Horn. Views off The Horn were excellent. It’s worth noting that just below the summit of The Horn, it looks like the spur trail splits into 2 different paths - stay to the left. The spur trial continues to split off in places approaching the summit. You can take a path that wraps around the back of the highest rock for the easiest access to the summit.

The Bulge is nothing hard to get to or spectacular - it’s marked with a small cairn. Climbing up to the summit of Cabot was steeper in this direction, but I’d rather go up steep sections than down. Along the whole route to this point, there are lot of leaves on the ground, some mud and slippery roots.
