Took a break from James’ 52wav list for the boy to hike his first 4000 footer. Lovely brisk Autumn day. Plenty of leaves down on trail but not enough to be a significant nuisance. Foliage in Waterville Valley is still stunning and descending the ski trails is a wonderful option to peep at all the magnificent colors. The slopes have been mowed and were 99.9% dry, making for a nice smooth descent. Views coming down are exponentially better than the somewhat restricted summit views. Strongly recommend this route right now! |
