Water Crossing Notes
Water Crossing Notes: Carrigain Brook crossing was easy to rock step. Water level was low. Saco discharge rate for the day and time was 46.4 ft3/s
Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: A few stepover blowdowns, one duck under. One of the two logs bridging a gap on the trail reroute beyond the Carrigain brook is broken. As someone recently pointed out, “Carrigain” is misspelled on trail signs. It shows as “Carrigan”. It has been like this for years. It seems a disservice to Philip Carrigain for whom the trail is named. He was a noted 19th century cartographer best known for producing one of the earliest maps of NH.
