A nice late afternoon hike today and I had it all to myself. About 11 miles or so and 2,200 feet in 4 hours. I spent about an hour watching the sun go down from Tremont, it wasn’t too cold up there. The view is similar from both peaks, to the west and south. After a steep descent, it was an easy jog out on the road, no headlamp needed. I saw a young moose on the drive home on 302, cars were swerving to avoid it but it made it across safely. |
