Starting from the Mizpah Springs Hut, the Dry River Cutoff trail has a tricky turn about halfway down on the way to the Mt Eisenhower trail junction. It looks like the trail runs straight ahead, but instead it turns 90 degrees to the left. When I hit this spot, I got turned around and started back the way that I came. I didn’t trust my GPS app and I should have, obviously. A couple of hikers set me straight, but it was difficult to get my head reoriented. On the right course, the Cutoff trail was muddy and wet but not that bad. The Dry River trail was easy to navigate and in pretty good shape. |
