Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: Aside from a short stretch of maples immediately at the beginning, all maples have dropped leaves. The beeches are still holding strong and largely have not even begin to turn yet. The first 0.9 or so until the softwoods has lots of leaves down and standing water, so pretty typical immediately after a rain. Get that leafblower ready rocket! Tried to assist in a handful of waterbars to get them flowing again.

Comments
Comments: Wrote report for trail maintainer, not that they don't do it every few days and know already. Up and down before sun up. Caught a perfect window of rain free conditions aside from the last five minutes of which I was protected by the beech canopy. Still cold, raw and damp. Was 39 when I started. The steam was pouring off me resembled a Baldwin engine. Scintillating time despite the trail being in expert mode with wet leaves, standing water, wet rock and mud. That and the mist that afforded commanding 5-10 foot visibility. I was the only idiot on the mountain with a pair of goggles and a bothy bag in my pack, and probably will hold that title for a while.
