Comments
Comments: I made it up to the canister in 50 minutes. Round trip 2.9 miles in 1:45. I headed east until reaching a false summit area, then I could see the actual summit to the south about 200 ft. higher. After a short marshy section with light traces of snow and moose prints I found a glorious wide herd path straight to the summit for the last quarter mile or so. Good views just past the canister over blowdown patches, but I didn’t have time to explore much as it was late in the day. The woods were super thick and pokey from about 3000-2800 ft. but I really didn’t have to negotiate many blowdowns luckily. Just brute force to push through, which is oddly satisfying sometimes.
