We parked near the large log landing on Bear Mountain Rd at the height-of-land near the Hebron/Alexandria line. Access at bottom of road is pretty good but near the top there are some big rocks to get over - maybe can park below them? Jeep wrangler made short work of the obstacles. ;) |

Nice afternoon hike - beautiful colors and views of Newfound. Kind of regretted doing the loop in this direction as the descent via Bear Mtn Trail was so steep (I always forget how steep) that we kind of glissaded/butt slid most of the way. Fallen leaves made the descent super slow. Super pretty headwall and rock formations. Love the walk along the ridge once you're on the ridge. |
