| Parking/Access Road Notes: |
No issues on Magalloway Rd. as usual. Happy to report that Tower Rd. is in the best shape that I've ever seen it. Regular cars can drive it slowly and with care but watch for a few small washouts. High-clearance vehicles will have no issues at all. The section that was flooded by beavers has been repaired and widened so you'll no longer be driving through a brushy corridor. |

| Trail Maintenance Notes: |
One large widowmaker immediately beyond Magalloway Cabin and a messy duck under just beyond that. One small stepover on the overlook spur and one large tree down on lower Bobcat. Bog bridges on lower Bobcat are rotting away. The state has put up new trail signs since my last visit. |

| Comments: |
I hiked this one twice for my fourth and fifth rounds of the "59 WAV". I first went up Coot to the summit and down Bobcat to the trailhead, then reversed the trip.
I also visited the outlook and went down to the old fire warden's spring. Despite earlier reports that the start of the spring path was hard to find, it is currently very obvious. The path itself is overgrown in places with some blowdown but can be followed by experienced hikers. The spring is about 0.1 mi. down.
There was one peek of a view from the outlook on Bobcat Trail but otherwise the mountain was in a cloud and completely viewless when I was here. As there were rain showers in the morning, ground conditions were wet with some muddy sections along Bobcat. |
