Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: Kilkenny Ridge Trail has scattered stepovers between Unknown Pond and The Horn and blazing is very faded or non-existent. The Horn Spur has one small tree down partly in the trail and the lower part of the path needs brushing. The upper part could use markings of some kind to denote the actual route as there are a myriad of beaten paths that have been created by hikers looking for a way up to the top ledge.

Comments
Comments: This hike started and ended in snow showers. The entire route had a consistent dusting of snow.

Getting up onto the uppermost ledge using the bypass path around the back was a little tricky due to slippery snow and some ice. Mud along the Kilkenny Ridge Trail is also starting to freeze up.

I definitely got the best part of the day for the stellar views as the sun was still out in the morning before being taken over by clouds. Cabot was topped with a light layer of fresh snow and trees around the top of The Horn were collecting rime. I carried spikes but they weren't needed.

Didn't linger on top too long through as it was pretty cold with temps in the 30s plus a brisk wind.
