Comments
Comments: Trails near Kearsarge Valley Road are very icy, light traction is recommended. We wore crampons from door to door, trail above parking lot below summit has ice flows, crampons worked great, but light traction would also work.

Bushwack over west spur ridge of Black Mountain is excellent. Down low is nice hardwood forest with much wildlife activity. Spruce forest on Black Mountain is very nice to travel through. There are some very nice birch glades on west side of Black Mountain that extend down to the road.
