Arrived at 6:30 AM and was the second car in the lot. The trail had some unavoidable muddy sections, but nothing that waterproof hiking boots couldn’t handle. Lots of roots. It starts off fairly flat or with a slight incline for the first few miles, then begins the main ascent up to Mt. Hancock (I went clockwise). Honestly, it wasn’t bad at all—no technical scrambles and it was over fairly quickly. The spur between Hancock and North Hancock was fun. Spikes weren’t necessary but had them handy. Highly recommend bringing hiking poles! |
