Comments
Comments: The beginning of the beginning is upon us - back to report szn. A blustery day with high winds had us doing more protected peaks. Great conditions on Kedron Flume Trail, though there is a bit of leaf litter and care should be taken as there are about a half dozen somewhat inorganic turns that you can miss. I did this trail a few weeks ago so it was helpful. We were first up this today, though magically about 2/3 up to the junction of Ethan Pond, footprints appeared. Perhaps somewhat was raptured and deposited back on earth. Trace/minimal depth of snow from car to car today. Not too difficult however there were sections, especially that along WRT about half way from Field to AZ junction that where an ice luge. Many sections of glaze ice along all routes listed. Freeze thaw will likely enlarge these, so care should be exercised. I love this time of season... just commit to winter already and lets get it over with. Large temperature difference down low (37) to the ridge (20). Many out today despite the weather. Time to put those spikes back in your pack, though I personally didn't use mine, a case could absolutely be made for their usage, depending on your comfort level, desired level of thrill, or difficulty. 336/366!
