| Comments: |
Black ice and crunchy snow conditions nearly all day. Barefooted the first mile of Ammo which made for slow going. Once the ice was steady enough for spikes things went much better. Kept them on until I was back down to 3000 feet or so.
Now some cranky old man suggestions based on some chats today:
-Bring spikes and poles, especially on Ammo
-For the love of god, bring hats and gloves
-Don’t assume the Cog is running and is your ticket down
-Don’t assume facilities or hut are open. They’re not.
-Sweat pants and Washington rarely mix
Lots of well prepared folks out today, but a handful of surprisingly unprepared groups given the weather.
Be safe everyone. |
